چکیده

This paper presents a new incremental algorithm for directly estimating depth maps from image sequences, which is based on the modiied motion constraint equation. In order to overcome the inherent problem of the gradient-based methods which are sensitive to noise and guarantee a moderate cost, we make a scalar Kalman ltering approach with some compensation considering discontinuity and occlusion to the direct methods for recovering 3-D structures without restoring optical ow. The experiments show that the algorithm is eeective and robust to noisy real image sequences.

Andparameter Estimation for Image Sequenceswith Missing

This paper presents a new scheme for interpolation of missing data in image sequences, an important problem in many areas including archived motion picture lm and digital video. A uniied framework for image data modelling and motion estimation is adopted which is based on 3-dimensional autoregressive (3DAR) models with motion correction. A fully Bayesian methodology is implemented using the Gib...

Planelet Transform: A New Geometrical Wavelet for Compression of Kinect-like Depth Images

With the advent of cheap indoor RGB-D sensors, proper representation of piecewise planar depth images is crucial toward an effective compression method. Although there exist geometrical wavelets for optimal representation of piecewise constant and piecewise linear images (i.e. wedgelets and platelets), an adaptation to piecewise linear fractional functions which correspond to depth variation ov...

Calibration of focal length and 3D pose based on the reflectance and depth image of a planar object

The estimation of position and orientation of a PMD camera in a global reference frame is required by many measurement applications based on such systems. PMD cameras produce a depth as well as a reflectance image of low resolution compared to standard optical cameras, so that calibration of the cameras based on the reflecance image alone is difficult. We will present a novel approach for calib...

Toward Depth Estimation Using Mask-Based Lensless Cameras

Recently, coded masks have been used to demonstrate a thin form-factor lensless camera, FlatCam, in which a mask is placed immediately on top of a bare image sensor. In this paper, we present an imaging model and algorithm to jointly estimate depth and intensity information in the scene from a single or multiple FlatCams. We use a light field representation to model the mapping of 3D scene onto...

Robust Depth Estimation from Auto Bracketed Images

As demand for advanced photographic applications on hand-held devices grows, these electronics require the capture of high quality depth. However, under low-light conditions, most devices still suffer from low imaging quality and inaccurate depth acquisition. To address the problem, we present a robust depth estimation method from a short burst shot with varied intensity (i.e., Auto Bracketing)...
